White Denim

Can we talk about white denim for a minute? Recently, I’ve been on that hype and have purchased not one, but multiple pairs of white denim pants! Its a bold and adventurous color that only some dare to take on. Yes, you run the risk of staining your clothes as well as your self esteem but it can also act like your bright blues, greens, and yellow accent pieces. Denim was, is, and always will be cool. A classic fabric that works with any style. I have been seeing a lot of denim on denim action these days, which has circled around again from the 50s and 60s. The Canadian Tuxedo, I would say is even bolder of a statement than white denim. It takes a lot of courage and enough confidence to sport that duo.

Happy Birthday America!

The Fourth of July might be one of my favorite holidays especially in Sonoma. I’ve spent the majority of my Fourth’s up there ever since I was a kid so it’s very nostalgic for me. The town is extremely festive when it comes to this American day. Red, white, and blue everywhere! Sonoma is known for it’s fabulous Fourth of July parade in the town square and ranked 3rd in the nation! After the parade we spent the rest of the day lounging by the pool and barbecuing. A true summer day and the way America’s Birthday is supposed to be spent! Then, closing the day with fireworks, of course!

A Very Happy Pride

Started my weekend off with some very exciting news! Friday morning I was woken up by an amazing text from my girlfriend, “Supreme Court ruled 5-4 this morning that same-sex marriage is legal throughout the nation!” I quickly responded and then jumped on social media. Everyone was going crazy, postings and support left and right! I don’t shed tears too often, but for this occasion they were unstoppable. It’s about time! Hooray for equality and human rights!

Thursday night started with The Lex kick-off party. Since The Lexington Club closed a couple months ago (the ONLY lesbian bar in San Francisco, I kid you not) the event was held at Virgils in the Mission District. The dying of The Lex was a huge bummer for the lesbian and queer community in the city but les-bi-honest, lezzie’s like to stay at home with their GF’s and cats instead of going out. I’ve definitely been guilty of this, hah! The standard Saturday day party was at Dolores Park and man, were we jam packed like sardines! I missed the big parade downtown but had a nice brunch at Radish with friends in the Mission instead. Then it was off to El Rio for the Queerly Beloved party! El Rio is an awesome spot in the Mission that throws a lot of day parties since they have a huge back patio area. Music, friends, dancing; life was all good in my book!

Happy Pride!

West Coast Craft Fair

Spent the foggy Sunday morning grabbing a coffee and strolling over to Fort Mason. Lucky for me I live within a 10 minute walking distance. The isles were packed with swoon worthy goods. Eek! So much wood and leather I wanted to load into my bag to take home, so much damage I wanted to do on my credit card! The West Coast Craft Fair is put on during Summer and Winter. Artists come from all over the place to display their crafts. I even ran into a friend’s girlfriend who’s a local SF artist and had no idea she made handcrafted jewelry! Some of my personal favorites at the fair were Adina Mills, LUCE, Joshu+Vela, Bliss and Mischief, Natalie Klapper, Melanie Abrantes, and Materials + Process- just to name a few!
